10-year service
A major overhaul for prosumer machines — replacing gaskets, seals, flow restrictors, shower screens, pump parts, pressurestat and thermostats.
Category: Maintenance & Servicing
A major scheduled overhaul of an espresso machine after 8–12 years of regular use. Typically includes boiler removal and inspection, complete reseal of all gaskets, pump rebuild or replacement, full electrical check, and replacement of all wear parts.
Why it matters — Components inside an espresso machine slowly degrade over a decade — gaskets harden, seals compress, pump performance drops, and minor scale accumulates even with good filtration. A scheduled 10-year service brings the machine back to near-new condition.
Good to know
- A 10-year service typically costs 20–30% of the original machine price — and adds 10+ more years of service life.
- Worth budgeting for if you intend to keep a quality machine long-term. Most prosumer machines are designed to be serviced indefinitely.
