Category: Brew Methods — Non-Espresso
A pressure-and-immersion brewer invented in 2005 — a plastic cylinder, a plunger with a rubber seal, and a small paper filter at the bottom. Coffee steeps in the chamber and is pressed through the filter into a cup.
Why it matters — The AeroPress is one of the most flexible brewers ever designed. It works for filter-style coffee, espresso-style concentrate, and everything in between. It's also unbreakable, portable, and dishwasher-safe — ideal for travel and office brewing.
Good to know
- The World AeroPress Championship is its own annual event; competition recipes are easy to find online and worth trying.
- A small Aeropress and a Comandante hand grinder is one of the most popular travel coffee kits in the world.
