Boiler pressure gauge
The manometer that displays steam boiler pressure (0–2.5 bar typical range).
Category: Pumps & Pressure
A manometer that displays the current pressure inside the steam boiler. Typical range 0–2.5 bar; idle pressure for most prosumer machines is 1.0–1.5 bar.
Why it matters — The boiler pressure gauge shows whether the pstat (pressure switch) or PID is holding steam pressure stably. Steady idle pressure means the controller is working; swinging or drifting pressure indicates a failing pstat or other issue.
Good to know
- Values above 1.5 bar idle indicate a problem — usually a misadjusted pstat. Don't ignore it; high boiler pressure stresses safety components.
- Some machines have separate gauges for the brew and steam circuits; others have one shared gauge.
