Dispersion screw
The single screw holding the shower screen (and sometimes dispersion block) onto the group.
Category: Maintenance & Servicing
The single screw that holds the shower screen (and sometimes the dispersion block) onto the underside of the group head.
Why it matters — Dispersion screws are easy to over-torque and strip — especially on softer brass groups. A stripped screw can prevent removal of the screen for cleaning.
Good to know
- Hand-tight is enough. The pressure of the brew won't push the screen off if it's properly seated.
- Keep a few spare dispersion screws on hand — they're inexpensive, and a stripped one can sideline the machine if you don't have a replacement.
