Dosing cup
A small metal cup (often 58mm OD) used to catch grounds from the grinder, then invert into the basket.
Category: Grinders — Adjustment & Dosing
A small cylindrical cup placed under the grinder to catch the ground coffee. Used in single-dose workflows — the cup catches the grind, then you transfer the contents to the basket.
Why it matters — Dosing cups make single-dose workflows clean and repeatable. You can shake the cup to settle grounds, see the dose, and pour it into the basket without spillage.
Good to know
- Match the cup size to the basket diameter — 58 mm cups for 58 mm baskets.
- Some dosing cups have built-in declumpers or screens — useful but optional.
