Dosing funnel
A magnetic ring or funnel that sits on top of the basket to guide grounds in without spilling, often used with single-dose workflows.

A magnetic or friction collar that sits on top of the portafilter basket, extending the basket walls upward to catch loose grounds during single-dose grinding.
Why it matters — Single-dose workflows often spill a few grounds around the basket rim. A dosing funnel catches them so your weighed dose actually lands in the basket.
Good to know
- Magnetic funnels need a stainless basket; friction funnels work on any basket.
- Match the funnel diameter to the basket — 58 mm baskets need 58 mm funnels; mismatched sizes leak.
