Gooseneck kettle
A kettle with a long, thin, curved spout that delivers a precise, controllable water stream.
Category: Accessories & Barista Tools
A kettle with a long, narrow, curved spout that delivers a slow, precise pour. Common for pour-over brewing (V60, Kalita, Chemex) where pour control directly affects extraction.
Why it matters — A standard kettle pours too fast and too wide for pour-over brewing — water dumps onto the bed, disturbs the grounds, and produces uneven extraction. A gooseneck gives you the control to bloom, pulse, and pour evenly across the filter.
Good to know
- Variable-temperature electric kettles (Brewista, Fellow, Hario) let you set the temperature to match the coffee — typically 92–96 °C for most filter coffee.
- A stable, slow pour matters more than fancy patterns. Aim for a steady stream the thickness of a pencil.
