Grinder cleaning tablets (Urnex Grindz, Cafiza)
Rice-shaped or granular cleaning media that runs through a grinder to absorb oils and flush out fines.

Food-safe cleaning pellets — typically made from compressed grain or polymer — that you run through the grinder like coffee. They absorb oils and dislodge fines from the burr surfaces and chute.
Why it matters — Coffee oils build up on burrs over time, especially with darker roasts. Cleaning tablets remove that buildup, restoring grind quality and removing rancid-oil flavours.
Good to know
- Run cleaning tablets every 1–3 months on home use; weekly on café use.
- Discard the first 10–20 g of coffee after a cleaning cycle — there's typically still residue of the tablet in the chute.
