Category: Milk & Latte Art
Common latte art patterns, listed roughly in order of difficulty. Heart is the foundation — a single circular pour shaped at the finish. Tulip builds with two or more layered pours. Rosetta uses a side-to-side wiggle to create a fern shape. Swan combines rosetta with extended pouring for the neck. Wave (stacked tulip) layers multiple tulip pours.
Why it matters — Each pattern teaches a different control skill — pour height, jug angle, finish speed, layering. Working through them in order builds the foundation for advanced patterns.
Good to know
- Hearts are achievable in a week of daily practice. Tulips take about a month. Rosettas typically take 3–6 months to land consistently.
- Practise on water with a few drops of dish soap to save milk while learning jug technique.
