Insulation jacket
A foam or foil wrap around the boiler to reduce heat loss.
Category: Boilers & Heating
A foam, foil, or fibre wrap fitted around the steam and/or brew boiler to reduce heat loss to the surrounding cabinet. Most are aftermarket retrofits, though some manufacturers fit them as standard.
Why it matters — An insulated boiler holds temperature more stably, recovers faster between shots, and uses less electricity at idle. For a machine that runs all day, that adds up.
Good to know
- Easy to retrofit on most prosumer machines (Rocket, ECM, Profitec) — usually a 30-minute job.
- Don't insulate any boiler with exposed electrical contacts or pressure-stat probes — leave clearance for safety.
