Knob & Handle
Wood, metal, or plastic grips for steam taps and portafilters — wear items that get burned, dropped, and replaced as much for looks as for function.
Category: Accessories & Barista Tools
The grip portion of a portafilter — usually wood, resin, or stainless steel — that attaches to the metal portafilter head. Handles are standardised by thread size and can be swapped for upgrades or replacements.
Why it matters — A handle is the part you touch every shot. A worn, cracked, or uncomfortable handle slows your workflow and can splinter or fail. Upgrade handles also let you match aesthetics to your machine — a small but satisfying detail.
Good to know
- Most prosumer portafilters use M10 thread, but check before ordering — some Italian machines use M8 or proprietary threads.
- Wooden handles look great but darken and crack over years; resin and stainless handles last longer.
