Latte art pen
A small tool like a dull skewer used for etching details in latte art.
Category: Accessories & Barista Tools
A small tool — usually metal, shaped like a dull skewer with a slight hook or point — used to etch fine details into the foam after the main pattern has been poured. Some are double-ended with different tip profiles for different effects.
Why it matters — Free-pour latte art can only get you so far. A pen lets you add detail, signatures, or whole illustrated designs (animals, faces, monograms) on top of a poured base.
Good to know
- Work fast — the foam loses its definition within 30–60 seconds.
- Dip the pen in espresso for contrast lines, or in chocolate sauce for sharper detail.
