The machine is completely dead — no lights, no pump, no display, nothing happens when you press the power switch.
Why it matters — Often a much cheaper fix than it appears. Most "dead machine" faults trace to a power-side component (switch, fuse, thermal trip) rather than the boiler or control board.
Good to know
- Check the obvious first: power outlet works (try a lamp), the plug fuse (if your plug has one), and the power switch.
- Then check the thermal fuse — most machines have a thermal cut-out that resets after a cool-down period or needs manual replacement. Past that, the control board or rectifier is the next suspect.
