Pump Head / Brass Pump
The brass body of a rotary pump — contains the rotor, vanes, and bypass valve that build brew pressure on plumbed-in machines.
Category: Pumps & Pressure
The brass casting at the heart of a rotary vane pump — containing the rotor, vanes, and inlet/outlet ports. The most precision-machined part of the pump and the source of its long service life.
Why it matters — A quality brass pump head is what gives rotary pumps their 10+ year service life. Properly maintained, a Procon or Fluid-O-Tech pump head can be rebuilt repeatedly rather than replaced.
Good to know
- Common brands: Procon, Fluid-O-Tech, Ulka (for rotary versions).
- A pump that's lost pressure or become noisy often just needs the head rebuilt — new vanes, fresh o-rings, and a clean cavity bring it back to as-new performance.
