Shower screen replacement
Removing and swapping the shower screen, usually held by a single centre screw.
Category: Maintenance & Servicing
Removing the small disc with multiple holes that sits under the dispersion plate, and replacing it with a fresh one. Usually held in place by a single centre screw.
Why it matters — Shower screens clog with coffee fines over time. A clogged screen distributes water unevenly across the puck, causing channelling and inconsistent extraction. Replacing every 6–12 months (home) or every 3 months (café) is a small fix with big impact.
Good to know
- Cheap and easy to swap. Most home users can do it themselves.
- Clean screens periodically with a Cafiza soak between replacements to extend life.
