Single origin
Coffee from a single farm, region, or country — bottled without blending.
Category: Coffee & Roasting
Coffee from a single farm, region, or country — sometimes a single lot from a single producer in a single harvest. Not blended.
Why it matters — Single origins express the specific character of where the coffee was grown — the variety, the altitude, the processing, the season. They're more variable than blends but more rewarding to taste closely.
Good to know
- "Single estate" or "single farm" is more specific than "single origin" — read the label for how specific the lot is.
- Single origins shift with the harvest cycle. A coffee you loved in March may be gone by August; the next year's lot will be similar but not identical.
