Spout type (standard, sharp/tulip)

Different spout profiles — wide standard spouts for big pours, sharp/tulip spouts for precision latte art.

Category: Milk & Latte Art

Different jug spout profiles. Standard spouts are wide and rounded — good for big, bold pours. Sharp or tulip spouts are narrow with a sharp pour tip — designed for fine detail in latte art.

Why it matters — Spout shape directly affects what kind of pour you can produce. A sharp spout lets you draw delicate rosetta wiggles or hairline detail; a standard spout pours wider bands and bolder shapes.

Good to know

  • Many baristas own both — a standard jug for daily milk drinks, a sharp/tulip jug for competition or showpiece pours.
  • Some specialty pitchers (the JIBBIJUG, Espro Toroid) feature unusually shaped spouts designed to favour specific pour styles.
