The articulating tube that delivers high-pressure dry steam from the boiler into the milk jug for texturing. The exit tip has multiple holes to spread the steam.
Why it matters — The steam wand is the second most important piece of milk equipment after the jug. Tip design — hole count, hole angle, hole spacing — determines how powerfully and how quickly the wand can steam milk.
Good to know
- Narrow tips with fewer holes (2–3 holes) give fine, slow texture — ideal for latte art at home.
- Wider tips with more holes (4–6) give faster steam and bigger volume — designed for high-volume café use.
