Thermocoil
Breville's proprietary thermoblock design — a stainless steel coil wrapped around a heating element, giving better temperature control than a basic thermoblock while still being fast to heat up.

A variant of the thermoblock that runs water through a coiled stainless steel tube embedded in or around a heating block. Effectively a hybrid between thermoblock and boiler.
Why it matters — Thermocoils typically deliver better temperature stability than basic thermoblocks because the longer water path absorbs heat more evenly. They're common in mid-range home machines.
Good to know
- Found in Breville Dual Boiler (despite the name) and several similar machines.
- Like thermoblocks, the narrow internal path is sensitive to scale. Good water filtration is essential.
