Tubing & Hose (PTFE / Silicone / Braided)

Internal water and steam lines — PTFE for high-temperature brew water, silicone for low-pressure cold lines, braided stainless for plumbed inlets.

Category: Water System

The flexible water and steam lines inside and outside the espresso machine. PTFE (Teflon) tubing handles high temperatures and pressures, common for brew lines. Silicone is flexible and food-safe, used for low-pressure cold lines. Braided stainless sleeves protect tubing from abrasion and burst pressure.

Why it matters — Tubing quality and condition matter for machine reliability. A failed water line can leak, burst, or contaminate the machine — and replacements need to match the original spec.

Good to know

  • Most failures show up as small drips or seepage at connection points — inspect tubing during regular service.
  • When replacing, use food-grade tubing rated for the temperature and pressure of the application. Cheap tubing can leach plasticisers into the water.
