V60
A conical pour-over dripper invented by Hario, with spiral ridges and a single large hole at the bottom.
Category: Brew Methods — Non-Espresso
A cone-shaped pour-over dripper made by Hario, with a 60-degree angle (hence the name), spiral ribs along the inside walls, and a single large hole at the bottom.
Why it matters — The V60 is the most influential pour-over dripper in modern specialty coffee. The geometry encourages even extraction when the pour technique is good, and rewards careful technique with exceptional clarity.
Good to know
- Comes in ceramic, glass, plastic, and metal. Ceramic holds heat best; plastic is ideal for travel.
- The single large hole means pour speed directly affects extraction — pour faster for a coarser-tasting cup, slower for more extraction.
